How do I get a reminder when I leave home?
In Just List, add a location reminder to an item or list, pick your home on the map and choose "when I leave". Your phone reminds you as you head out, even with the app closed. It's free on Android and iPhone.
How to do it
Open the item or list
In the app, open the list or item you want to be reminded about (keys, gym bag, "take out the trash") and add a reminder.
Pick a location reminder
Choose a place instead of a time. Pick your home on the map, or use Home from the shortcuts.
Choose "when I leave"
Switch the trigger from "When I arrive" to "When I leave". The default radius for leaving is 150 meters; you can set anything from 150 to 1000. For a daily reminder, also turn on "Repeat every visit", otherwise it rings once and is cleared.
Allow background location
Give the app location permission, including background location, so your phone can notice when you step out even if the app is closed.

Leave-home reminders, step by step
- Open the item or list in the app and add a reminder.
- Choose a place and pick your home on the map.
- Set it to "when I leave", and turn on "Repeat every visit" if you want it every day.
- Allow location, including background location.

Tips
- The leave radius is 150 meters by default, so it fires soon after you step away. Make it larger if your building is big.
- Without background location, the phone can't notice you leaving. The app asks for it when you set the reminder.
- Looking for the opposite? "When I arrive" is the same screen. Your grocery list can pop up as you reach the store.
