Lists

How do I keep a weekly shopping list with my partner?

Make one shared list in Just List, send your partner the link, and you both add and check off items live. Set a weekly reminder on the list so the shop never sneaks up on you.

How to do it

  1. Make one list for the week

In the app, tap the Groceries quick start, or create a list and name it. Keep it as your permanent weekly list and just check things off and add new ones.

  2. Send it to your partner

Share the list by link or straight to WhatsApp. They open it and join, on Android, iPhone or the web.

  3. Add from anywhere

Whoever notices the milk is gone adds it. Whoever is at the store checks it off, and the other one sees it right away.

  4. Set a weekly reminder

Add a time reminder to the list and set it to repeat weekly, so the list pops up right before you usually shop.

Make one shared list in Just List, send your partner the link, and you both add and check off items live, on any mix of Android, iPhone and the web. Add a weekly repeating reminder to the list and the shop stops being a surprise.

The problem

The weekly shop runs on a chat thread. "Did you buy the eggs?" "I thought you did." Two people, one fridge, and somehow three cartons of yogurt and no bread.

One list that stays

You don't need a new list every week. Keep one, check things off as you buy, and add what's missing during the week. It's always current for both of you.

How to start

  1. Tap the Groceries quick start in the app, or make a new list.
  2. Share it with your partner by link or WhatsApp.
  3. They open the link and join.
  4. Add, check off, repeat. Both phones stay in sync.

Make the week easier

  • Justy writes it. Say "groceries for two, vegetarian" and she drafts the whole list for you to tweak.
  • Usual items. The app suggests what you buy often, as you type.
  • Weekly reminder. Add a time reminder to the list and set it to repeat weekly. When it rings, tap Done or Snooze right from the notification.

Free and Plus

Free accounts get up to 7 active lists and 30 items per list. A shared list counts as Plus if either of you has Plus, so it has no item cap. Nothing gets deleted if a plan ends.

What's free and what's Plus

Free: up to 7 active lists and 30 items per list. A shared list counts as Plus if anyone on it has Plus, so one of you having Plus removes the item cap for both. Reminders are free. Plus Family covers up to 6 accounts with one payment.

FAQ

Do we both need the app?

Both of you need to join the list. Your partner opens your link and joins; it works on Android, iPhone and the web lists page, in any combination.

Can Justy write the weekly list for us?

Yes, in the app. Tell Justy something like "groceries for two for the week" and she writes the list. You can then change anything. Free accounts get 3 asks a day, and your very first one doesn't count.

Does the app remember what we usually buy?

Yes. As you type, the app suggests your usual items. Tap a suggestion and it's on the list. Suggestions are in the app, not on the web.

How many items can the list hold?

A free account gets up to 30 items per list and up to 7 active lists. A shared list counts as Plus if either of you has Plus, so it has no item cap.

Can we split Plus?

Only one of you needs Plus for the shared list to be uncapped. For separate private accounts under one payment, there's Plus Family, up to 6 accounts.

Is the weekly reminder free?

Yes. Time reminders, including repeating ones, are free.
