How do I turn a sign-up spreadsheet, Google Sheet or WhatsApp list into a Just List event?
Go to justlistapp.com/en/import, then paste, upload a file, drop in a Google Sheets link or snap a photo, and you get an event ready to share. Anyone already signed up stays signed up.
How to do it
Open the import page
Go to justlistapp.com/en/import. It works signed in or not.
Pick how to bring your list in
Paste, file, link or photo. Paste a list from a chat or cells from a sheet, upload a file, add a Google Sheets link, or upload up to 3 photos of the sheet.
Review what came in
Check the items, quantities and the names that were kept, and fix anything you like. Nothing is published until you say so.
Publish and share
You get a ready-to-send message saying who's in and what's still needed. Post it to the group.
People already signed up confirm
Anyone whose name was already on the sheet taps "That's me", and the item stays theirs.

The problem
The sign-up already started. There's a spreadsheet someone made, or a message in the group chat like "1. Chips – Dana", and half the names are already there. Retyping all of it into a new tool? Nobody's doing that. Asking everyone to sign up again is a great way to lose half of them.
What you can bring in
- A file: xlsx, xls, ods, csv or tsv, up to 5 MB.
- A public Google Sheets link. If the sheet is private, you'll get a short 2-step how-to.
- Pasted cells, straight from the spreadsheet.
- Up to 3 photos or screenshots of a sheet, or of the printed sign-up taped to the classroom door.
- A list pasted from a chat, like "1. Chips – Dana".
What happens to the names already on the sheet
They're kept next to their items. When Dana opens the link she sees the chips are hers, taps "That's me", and she's done. Nobody signs up twice.

What's free and what's Plus
Importing is free. Event lists have no item limit on any plan. A free account can have up to 10 active events; Plus makes that unlimited.

My Google Sheet is private. What do I do?
Change sharing to "Anyone with the link" and paste the link again. If you'd rather not change sharing, copy the cells and paste them, or upload a screenshot.
Which files can I upload?
xlsx, xls, ods, csv and tsv, up to 5 MB. You can also upload up to 3 photos or screenshots of a spreadsheet or a printed sign-up sheet.
Will formulas in my sheet run?
No. Formulas are never run; only the values are read.
Can I import from the app too?
Yes. Share a file, a photo or a copied chat list into Just List and continue from there.
Do my guests need the app or an account?
No. Guests open the event link in their browser and claim items with no app and no account.
Is there an item limit?
No. Event lists have no item limit on any plan. A free account can have up to 10 active events.
