How do I share a rota or turns for chores or carpool duty in a group?
Make one Just List event with a slot for each turn, like "Drive, Sun Nov 8" or "Dishes, week of Nov 9", and share the link with the group. Everyone taps their turns and sees who's up next. No app, no account.
How to do it
Write down the turns
Go to justlistapp.com/en/justy and describe the rota, or build the list by hand in the app. Each turn is one slot, such as "Soccer carpool, Sun Nov 8" or "Bins, Tuesday".
Share the link with the group
Post it once in the carpool, house or friends' group. Everyone opens it in the browser, no install and no sign-up.
Everyone claims their turns
Tap a free turn and it's marked with your name for everyone, live.
Swap when plans change
Can't make it? Drop your turn and someone else takes it. In the app, the organizer can also put someone on a turn or open it up again.
Make one Just List event with a slot for each turn, like "Drive, Sun Nov 8" or "Dishes, week of Nov 9", and share the link with the group. Everyone taps their turns and sees, live, who's up next and what's still open. No app, no account.
The problem
"Who's driving tomorrow?" "I thought you were." "No, I did last week." A rota that lives in a group chat falls apart the first time two people swap in a private message. A spreadsheet helps, right up until nobody can find the link.
How it works
- Write the turns at justlistapp.com/en/justy or in the app. One turn per date or per week.
- Share the link with the group.
- Everyone claims a turn. A taken turn shows the person's name for everyone.
- Swap without the drama. Drop your turn, and someone else picks it up.
Good for
- Carpools: school, practice or the office, one turn per day.
- Housemates and families: dishes, bins, cleaning the stairs, one turn per week.
- Friends: who hosts the next game night, who books the court, who brings the ball.
Tips
- Name turns by date, like "Sun Nov 8". People look for their day, not a number.
- Start a fresh event each month or term instead of one endless list.
- Pin the link in the group so it's always one tap away.

Just List Plus →FAQ
Does Just List rotate names automatically?
No. You list the turns by date or by week and people pick their own, or the organizer assigns them in the app. That way everyone takes turns that fit their week, and nobody finds out on Friday that it was theirs.
Does everyone need to install the app?
No. They open the link in a browser and tap a turn. No account, no password.
Can I put someone on a turn myself?
Yes. In the app, the organizer can assign a turn to someone else, like a grandparent who isn't in the group.
What if someone can't make their turn?
They drop it and the turn is free again. The organizer can also open a turn up again in the app, and the person gets a heads-up if they have notifications on.
For housemates, is a regular shared list better?
For a standing chore list you just tick off, yes: a shared list in the app updates live for everyone you invite. For turns by date, an event with a link works better.
Is there a limit on the number of turns?
No. Event lists have no item limit on any plan.
