Who brings what

How do I collect RSVPs from a WhatsApp group?

Create a Who's Coming list in Just List and share one link in the group. Everyone answers coming, not coming or maybe, plus how many, with no app and no account, and you see live totals and, with a guest list, who hasn't answered.

How to do it

  1. Create a Who's Coming list

Create an event and switch on "Who's coming (RSVPs)", or give Justy one sentence like "birthday at the park Friday 4pm". Only the title is required.

  2. Share the link with the group

The link is ready to share the moment the list exists, with no setup first. Post it in the group chat.

  3. Guests answer

Guests tap Coming, Not coming or Maybe and pick how many of them there are. No app, no account.

  4. See who's coming and who hasn't answered

Totals update live. If you added a guest list, you also see who hasn't answered and can nudge them on WhatsApp in one tap.

Create a Who's Coming list in Just List and share one link in your WhatsApp group. Everyone taps Coming, Not coming or Maybe and says how many, with no app and no account, and you see live totals and, with a guest list, exactly who hasn't answered yet.

The problem

"Who's coming? Reply here." And then: a thumbs-up with no name, "we're 4, maybe 5", "coming!!" (who is?), and someone who said yes on Sunday and quietly backed out in a DM on Wednesday. You end up counting by hand and still aren't sure.

How it works

  1. Create an event and switch on "Who's coming (RSVPs)", or tell Justy in one sentence. Only the title is required; date, time and location are optional.
  2. Share the link in the group. It's ready right away.
  3. Guests answer in their browser: Coming, Not coming or Maybe, and how many. Afterwards they can add it to their calendar, and change their answer from the same link.
  4. You see live totals and, if you have a guest list, who hasn't answered.

Defaults that just work

You can create a list without touching a single setting:

  • Maybe is on.
  • Everyone counts as one person.
  • Guests see names and counts. Notes and phone numbers stay with you.

Optional extras when you want them: a capacity cap, an answer-by deadline, weekly or every-few-days repeats, a phone field for guests, a note on each answer, and a guest list.

Who hasn't answered

Add a guest list: paste names (one per line, with a phone number if you have it), pick from your contacts in the app, or import a spreadsheet. Guests then pick their name from the list, and you get a "Not answered yet" section with a remind button that opens WhatsApp with a ready message. There's also one button to remind everyone who hasn't answered.

Together with who brings what

Who's Coming is the headcount half of who brings what. Add one to the other in a tap, and guests get a single link: answer first, then claim what to bring.

What's free and what's Plus

Who's Coming is completely free: no Plus, and no limits on answers, guest-list size or repeats. Guests never need an app or an account.

FAQ

Should I keep Maybe on?

With Maybe, more people answer because they don't have to commit, and you find out early who's unsure. But maybes don't help your planning number. Without Maybe, the numbers are cleaner, but some people won't answer at all until they're sure. Tip: if you keep Maybe, set an answer-by deadline, and tap "Remind the maybes" the day before it. Guests who have the app also get a reminder on their own.

How do I count families or kids?

Pick a counting mode: each person (the default), adults and kids separately, by household, or adults only with kids welcome. The headline follows it, for example "18 adults + 9 kids".

Who can see the answers?

You choose: names and counts (the default), totals only with no names, or each guest sees only their own answer. Notes and phone numbers are always visible to the organizer only.

Can I add who brings what too?

Yes, in one tap, without retyping any details. It works the other way as well: add attendance to a who-brings-what event you already made.

Can I cap the number of guests?

Only if you want to. Set a capacity, and once it's reached, Coming is closed. Otherwise there's no limit.

Does it work for something that happens every week?

Yes. Set it to repeat weekly or every few days, and the same link works for every round. Each round starts with fresh answers, and your guest list and settings carry over.
